Armada Move to UNF

Jacksonville Armada FC have called the Baseball Grounds of Jacksonville home since their inception in 2015.  For their third season, however, the team has found a new home, setting up camp at the University of North Florida.  The team will play at the 9,400 capacity Hodges Stadium, remaining in the city proper.

The venue remains at a similar capacity to that of the Baseball Grounds, though the move may or may not be connected with the newfound instability of ownership as rumors persisted throughout the off-season.  At both venues, the Armada will be seen as the secondary tenants.  The Jacksonville Suns, now the Jacksonville Jumbo Shrimp, baseball team of the AA Southern League were a clear primary tenant at the Baseball Grounds and at UNF, the college's North Florida Ospreys soccer, track and field and cross country teams would be expected to take precedence due to the college's ownership and operation of the facility.

The venue has hosted non-college sports teams in the past, as the semi-professional Jacksonville Axemen of the USA Rugby League once played there prior to moving to the UNF soccer practice fields.

Hodges Stadium is the third venue to host the Armada, after the Baseball Grounds and EverBank Field, which hosted the team's first league game.
